Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good that they may be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share.
We look with gratitude upon the earthly favours we have received from God and are willing to share them.
If we should be granted earthly riches, let us be thankful for this blessing out of the hand of God.
The recognition that earthly riches are an unreliable form of wealth allows us to put our hope in God.
Those who do good works for their neighbour are rich toward God. For this reason we exhibit generosity and willingness to share.
