…so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? We remem-ber the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic, but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!”
We do not remain in the past but rather prepare ourselves for the return of Christ.
- Compared to the diversity of food that they had enjoyed in Egyptian slavery, the Israelites found the manna provided for them by God during their journey to be boring.
- God has sent us Jesus Christ, who is our food for eternal life.
- The Holy Spirit gives us the opportunity to believe and gain knowledge of God’s plan.
